Little Chefs

Last night I had an epiphany! My girls love to help. They especially love Pancake breakfast.  Every once in a while Breakfast for Dinner. They are two of the best Egg crackers in all of Central Florida!

I am always trying to think of ways of organizing to allow me to teach them things I feel they need to learn. As their main source of any cleaning, learning and cooking I feel it only right that I teach them how to cook!

I am the youngest brother of two. Cooking is something I remember enjoying helping my mother with that my brother was not always involved in.  I spent a good deal of time asking to help my mother mix, clean, pour, stir, and turn on things. It was awesome! Ofcourse the best part being tasting the good things your making in almost (rare eggs, not so good) every stage!

I know my eldest being still only kindergarten age. She is on the verge of reading. I really want to take this opportunity to teach fractions (division). Of course this is normally 4 grade math, but you know its the principal that can greatly help if she can grasp it. We have practiced with flash cards on drives in the car (long drive to my house, 45-60 mins) and is pretty proficient at them. Now that said it only took knowing numbers and being consistent in using them in the car. No video games probably helped.

IDEA:
I want to make a cookbook with them! At least a make shift one of things we make and want to make. We can color it, scrapbook it or something of the sort. This will allow us to build a repertoire of things they know how to make as well as they might just like to eat. They are pretty pick because of the lack of cooking variety on their mom's side. I know there are so many great things to eat and I would love to have them have a chance to experience them!
